These terms govern your use of Lumen (lumenstudy.com.au), operated by Lumen, a sole trader based in Australia (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Lumen, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lumen.
Lumen is for students. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under 18, you may only use Lumen with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf — and any paid subscription must be purchased and managed by a parent or guardian.
Lumen helps you study: it turns your notes into flashcards, quizzes, summaries, practice exams and study plans, and lets you chat with your documents. Features vary between the Free and Pro plans.
You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
Pro is currently activated with an access code issued when you purchase. If your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider, your purchase is also subject to their terms.
You agree not to:
Lumen’s summaries, flashcards, quizzes, explanations and practice exams are generated by AI and may contain mistakes or omissions. They are study aids only, are not official exam materials, and are not a substitute for your teacher, textbook, or professional advice. Always verify important information before relying on it. We don’t guarantee any particular academic result.
You keep ownership of the material you upload and create. You grant us a limited licence to store and process it (including sending it to our AI providers) solely to provide the service to you. We (and our licensors) own Lumen itself — the software, design, and branding — and you may not copy or reuse it except as allowed by these terms.
Lumen relies on third parties (AI providers, authentication, database, hosting, payments). We’re not responsible for their services, and your use of Lumen may also be subject to their terms.
Lumen is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
You can stop using Lumen and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the service. On termination, your right to use Lumen ends; some provisions (like ownership and liability limits) survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
We may update these terms; we’ll post the new version here and update the date above. For questions, email lumenstudytools@gmail.com.
